The patient risk rating system has been implemented to help prioritise patients during emergencies.
Each patient can now be assigned a risk rating of:
Red - highest priority
Amber - medium priority
Green - lowest priority
The rating will appear in the patient banner and can be used to filter and sort patient lists, helping care teams focus on the most vulnerable patients first during system outages or other emergency situations.
All changes will be logged and audited and the new feature supports custom reporting capabilities.
Follow these simple steps to navigate to the area in order to amend the risk rating for a patient:
Click on the CMS tab.
Go to the patients section and click Search.
Search and choose the patient you wish to update the risk rating of.
Click on the General Information tab.
For the first option Patient Risk RAG Status, click the dropdown list to choose the correct status for this patient.
Click Save.
Users with permission to edit patient information can even click on the label to assign a RAG rating.
Custom reports
For those who have reporting permissions, the patient risk rating can be reported on within custom reports. See the following article on creating a custom report.
This field can be found under the patients data source as 'Patient Risk RAG Status'.
