The Patient Messaging feature enables secure communication between patients and healthcare staff through the Patient Portal and CMS interface. Patients can view messages from their care team, reply to conversations, and manage their message inbox.

Patients access messaging through the main navigation menu at the top of the Patient Portal. When logged in, you will see a Messages link in the navigation bar. If there are unread messages, a blue badge will display showing the count of unread message threads.

Explanation

Message list view

Patients can view all their message threads in an organised list format. Indicating unread messages, filtering options, search functionality across message content, and the ability to archive message threads.

Message thread view

Complete conversations with clinical staff can be viewed in chronological order. Showing timestamps, file attachments and QR code previews. Messages are automatically marked as read when viewed. Read receipts are visible to clinical staff.

Clinical Admins can now start message conversations directly from patient profiles, reply to existing messages, and manage ongoing communications with permission controls, file attachment support, and real-time read receipt tracking.

Automatic email alerts when new messages are received

QR code upload & attachment

Clinical admins can upload and attach QR code images to individual patients and bulk messaging. Allowing them to share QR codes for appointments, patient portal access, and other healthcare-related resources.

Message permissions

Customer success manager is required to provide this tailored messaging permissions based on the users roles and responsibilities.

CMS users and healthcare staff

CMS users create and manage message threads from within the main SProc.Net CMS system.

Healthcare staff initiate new conversations and send messages to patients through the CMS interface.
