We've improved the accuracy and reliability of the NHS Funded Care Quarterly report by changing how eligibility is determined.
Eligibility is now determined using referral decision outcomes rather than department of health (DOH) stage dates. Since decision outcomes are updated more frequently and receive greater scrutiny, they provide a more reliable and current source of eligibility information.
The purpose of the report is to help commissioners understand their performance, workload, and compliance with national standards for assessing and funding continuing healthcare.
Follow these simple steps to create the report:
Click on the CMS tab and click Dashboard.
Within the Referral Reports section, click NHS CHC Reports.
Click on the NHS Funded Care Quarterly Activity tab, then click New.
Choose the Organisation Providing Care.
Enter the Date from and Date to reporting periods.
Click Save.
It may take several minutes, depending on data volume, for the report to be generated.
You can review your report and once you're happy, you can click the Actions button, and then click Confirm Submission. By confirming the submission, it will then be sent to the Central NHS system. Your report will move from the 'Pending Submission' status to 'Submitted'.
📌Note: The report generates quarterly on the start of the month automatically, however these can be re-generated by accessing them and selecting to re-run the report generation.
🤓Tip: All reports created will be visible under the NHS Funded Care Quarterly Activity tab.
You can check the following within the generated report data:
• Check that patient counts align with expected eligibility numbers.
• Verify that referrals with recent decisions are correctly reflected.
• Compare with previous quarters to identify any significant variances.
This report provides a comprehensive view of CHC activity across multiple dimensions:
Baseline case counts.
New activity.
Assessment outcomes.
Timeliness performance.
Aged case analysis.
